Transportation to New York City
...............................................................
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Transportation to New York City area airports is provided by trains (AirTrain JFK and AirTrain Newark), buses, taxi cabs, private shuttle services, helicopters and other means. The three major airports are:
John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
None of these airports are directly served by the area's commuter rail and subway systems, and LaGuardia has no rail service at all.
Both JFK and LaGuardia are located in the New York City borough of Queens. Newark Liberty is located in Newark, New Jersey. Some travelers take advantage of low-cost carriers that serve Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip, New York, and Westchester County Airport in White Plains, New York. Increased growth is also expected at Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, New York.(Do you interest in hair removal new york ?If yes click ..........)

Travelers may get to all the area airports via private bus services, most notably the New York Airport Service. These service usually pick up outside major transit hubs (including New York Penn Station, Grand Central Terminal and the Port Authority Bus Terminal) and hotels.
JFK and Newark Liberty Airports are served, respectively, by two short rail lines both known as AirTrain, connecting to other systems. AirTrain Newark is a light monorail whose railcars can never travel directly on the existing infrastructure of commuter or rapid transit lines, while AirTrain JFK is capable of handling heavy rail subway trains and could, in theory, send railcars onto rapid transit or commuter rail tracks. All three airports have connecting bus service to other transit. Public transportation is usually cheaper than taxi or direct bus service, but it is generally slower. However rail service can be faster at peak traffic times. MacArthur can be reached by shuttles that connect the airport with the nearby Long Island Rail Road station in Ronkonkoma, New York.( Do you interest in hair removal new york ?If yes click ..........)

The Pierre Hotel ( The good New York Hotels )
.............................................................
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pierre Hotel is a 41-story luxury hotel located on Fifth Avenue and 61st Street, facing Central Park, New York City. It is owned by the Taj Hotels Group, which owns and manages luxury hotels and resorts around the world. It was the scene of the famous 1972 Pierre Hotel Robbery.
The hotel consists of 201 rooms, 40 suites, and 12 grand suites. Among the 80 residents are Viacom entertainment company chairman Sumner Redstone, Harrods owner Mohamed al-Fayed, and designer Yves Saint Laurent. The penthouse is an easily recognizable skyscraper landmark, modeled after Mansart's Royal Chapel at Versailles, a system of Corinthian pilasters and arch-headed windows, with octagonal ends, under a tall, slanted roof that is pierced with bronze-finished bull's eye dormers.
Designed by the New York firm of Schultze and Weaver as a skyscraper that rises in a blond brick shaft from a limestone-fronted Louis XVI base, the Pierre opened in 1930 under the management of Charles Pierre Casalasco. After suffering from bankruptcy, it subsequently passed through a series of owners, finally ending up under the management of the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in 1981.
The Pierre has been owned by a housing cooperative (co-op) since 1959. There are seventy-six co-op owners of the Pierre, thirty of whom live permanently among the 201 guest rooms in the hotel.
A triplex co-op that occupies the top three floors was placed on the market in 2003, with a pricetag of $70 million . This 11,000 square-foot apartment features five bedrooms, four terraces, a paneled library, wine cellar, a black marble staircase and the hotel's former ballroom with 23-foot high ceilings. It was originally purchased by hedge-fund manager Martin Zweig, from publishing heiress Lady Mary Fairfax in 1999 for $21.5 million. With its $70 million pricetag payable in full at purchase, the co-op is currently listed in Forbes Magazine as the eighth-most expensive home in the world , fourth-most expensive home in the United States, and second-most expensive home in the Northeastern United States in 2006.. According to Domain.com.au, the board has turned down two would-be buyers

Grand Army Plaza ( The good New York Hotels )
.................................................................
The hotel's main entrance faces the southern portion of Grand Army Plaza— commemorating the Union Army in the Civil War. Grand Army Plaza is in two sections, bisected by Central Park South. The section in front of the Plaza Hotel is centered by the Pulitzer Fountain, of Abundance by Karl Bitter, funded by the will of the newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer: the statue in the fountain is actually Pomona, Roman goddess of orchards. The north side of Grand Army Plaza, a cutout from Central Park, has the glorious Augustus Saint-Gaudens part-gilded bronze equestrian statue of General Sherman. Grand Army Plaza provided the original main entrance to the carriage drives of Central Park.
On the south side of the Plaza (between 58th and 59th Streets) once stood the French Renaissance château of Cornelius Vanderbilt II, designed by George Browne Post; rising behind its gated front court, it was the grandest of the Fifth Avenue mansions of the Gilded Age. Bergdorf Goodman occupies its site.

The Plaza Hotel ( The good New York Hotels )
.....................................................
The Plaza is the second hotel of that name on the site. The French Renaissance château-style building was designed by Henry Janeway Hardenbergh and opened to the public October 1, 1907. Originally the Plaza cost $12.5 million to build in 1907.
The Plaza was accorded landmark status by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1988 and is, with the Waldorf-Astoria, the only New York City hotel to be designated as a National Historic Landmark. In the 1950s it was the setting for Kay Thompson's series of Eloise books, Eartha Kitt and Peggy Lee played the Persian Room, unaccompanied ladies were not permitted in the Oak Room bar and the Palm Court was favored for luncheons and teas.
The Beatles stayed at the Plaza during their first visit to the United States in February, 1964.
On November 28, 1966, in honor of publisher Katharine Graham, Truman Capote hosted his acclaimed "Black & White Ball" in the Grand Ballroom.
In September 1985, the Plaza Accord was signed at the Plaza. The Accord served as an agreement among the finance ministers of the United States, Japan, West Germany, France and Britain to bring down the price of the U.S. dollar against their currencies.
The building was declared a National Historic Landmark.
